Here are a few pics of the F-16 and scratch built P-51.

Here is the latest flight Video. Visit our YouTube Channel.

One year later...

After a few hours of flight testing, a flaw in the nose gear became apparent. As you can see from the picture, the protruding metal gear mount is now bent. It appears to be bent forward in this picture because I bent it that way. However, what had been happening is that the rolling resistance from takeoff, taxi and landing had bent the wheel back and so I thought I would fix it so it wouldn't do it again by bending it forward. This presented new problem as the plane became unstable during all ground maneuvers. This was the cause for the plane tipping over on landing one afternoon and scraping the heck out of the left fuel pod. I am working on a solution to the problem and I will report on the causes and corrections to the problem in a future post. Thanks for following! Please Follow!

F-16 shots

Here are a few shots I took before its first flight. Luckily, I could have taken the same shots after too! I have to say, this F-16 is one of the best EDF jets for the money. It takes off easily and is pretty forgiving on landing. It has plenty of power from the LiPo battery and nearly has a 1:1 thrust to weight ratio up here at 4500 ft. Its a great first time R/C EDF jet! But I would recommend learning on an easier, slower model plane before taking on the F-16.

Making Changes.

These are pictures of what i'm planning to change on this model to make it more reliable. As you can see from the photos, the parts in red are changes, like the spring moved up and the red bar thickened up. The biggest change is inclining the nose-gear to better handle the asphalt runways I fly from. Leave your comments and suggestions please!

70mm EDF RC F-16 Ground Tests

I was able to get to the field today to do some testing. It handled really well on the ground. It doesn't roll for too long after you touchdown. I apologize that I don't have any juicer video, I was alone, so this is really a rough, I mean rough video. It made it in the air a few times. As you could imagine, I couldn't get that on film because of the lack of a cameraman.

Faulty Radio

UPDATE
So, I took the F-16 out to the local model RC field two Sundays ago, and after waiting patiently for a turn to put her in the sky, I finally got to see what she looks like on the end of the runway.  As the adrenaline began pumping, I thought to myself, "Self, I haven't flow with this equipment before, best you do a range check!".  So I did.  I walked away disappointed, yet relieved to find that I lost control at about 55 to 60 ft.  After messing around with the electronics, and fiddling with the radio systems, I gave up.  I ended up contacting the company about the system and they agreed to send the upgraded 2.4Ghz radio.  It arrived and I installed it, and it seems to check out here at home, and I will have to check it out at the field, but I anticipate the first flight to be very soon.  Check back for an update!

BlitzRC Works F-16 Fighting Falcon

It finally arrived!  I spent a little extra time piecing it together as I was trying to keep glue off the floor.  The package came with plenty of clear 5 min epoxy, which I thought was really convenient.  All that had to be done was the nosecone, vertical stab, horizontal stabs, and the wings.  Thats it, gluing done.  The landing gear popped in really easily

.  I was disappointed that the servo cables were not labeled for quick and easy installation into the receiver, but after two trial and error attempts, everything worked normally.

The foam is painted and smooth, and its hard to tell its foam!  Its a great looking bird and we'll get it up in the air soon!

I am awaiting the arrival of the first rc plane to review from BananaHobby.com, the BlitzRCWorks F-16 Fighting Falcon. It's a 4 channel 70mm electric ducted fan (EDF) foam jet that appears to be a rocket right out of the box! I'm a huge fan of EDF jets, so we'll make this review amazing!  Check back for the review later next week! Keep your eyes on YouTube as well! http://www.youtube.com/user/VentureRC

VentureRC Created!!

Follow me at YouTube.com/users/VentureRC  I want to take a look at rc planes and show how simple things have become in the RTF market, and how easy to set up and fly. To start things off, we'll look at an EDF jet! Thanks for stopping by!
